Run, run, as fast as you can!

This week our focus fairy tale is The Gingerbread Man'. After lunch, the Room 1 children had great fun making and decorating their own gingerbread men (and/or gingerbread girls and dogs!).
We followed the recipe and took turns to make the dough, cut out the shapes and decorate the biscuits after baking. I wonder if they tasted as amazing as they looked!

Here are some photos of our finished products as well as the recipe should you like to have a go at making your own gingerbread men at home. Be sure to send us a photo of your creations if you do and we can put it on the blog.

2. Stir over a low heat until butter is melted and sugar dissolved.
3.  Remove from heat and add flour, baking soda and ginger.
4. Stir well to combine.
5. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour or so.
6.  Lightly flour the bench and roll out dough to 3-4mm thick.
